Weekends are always hectic. Watched "Guess Whos Coming to Dinner" this weekend, for the second time. For a mainstream hollywood movie (made in '68), its a very intelligent take on the various implications of having loved ones bear the brunt of progressive social lifestyles and decisions. Specifically, the movie deals with an interracial couple seeking the blessing of their respective parents in marrige. However, the movie very wisely sidesteps dealing specifically with the concept of interracial marrige and analyses the protectionist leanings that parents have when their offspring choose to participate in a lifestyle that pushes the boundries of progressive value systems. It's definately worth watching, as it stands up as a highly entertaining drama/comedy even if you're not interested in the message. It never comes across as heavy handed.
There is a delicious Roti place at Lansdowne and Bloor .. called "Vena's", if I remember correctly. Six whole bucks bought me more roti than I could eat, and the chicken meat was yummy and tender. And chickeny.
I'm going to write a few more rap songs. Oh, and Stephanie noticed that "A Day in the Life of My Comet" isn't in my list of MP3s on the side, which it should be. Dunno where it went to, but I should have it back up sometime early this week.
On the menu this week: fix bike, get Kawai keyboard back from repair .. oh, and my roommate and I are getting cable. I havn't had cable in a dog's age, so I think I'm due.
Oh, and the title? Props to Andrew, cause he taped me a copy of Naked Gun off the TV, like the badass mofo he is. It has the extended bribe scene, which causes me to nearly urinate involountarily every time I see it.
