A few backend changes should radically reduce the amount of comment spam on my blog.
I swear, if I ever met someone that wrote comment-spam bots, I'd beat them down. That should mean a lot coming from somebody who develops advertising devlierty services for a living. It also says a lot that pharmaceudical spamming has eclipsed porn advertising in my mailbox. A lot of marketing is built on the fear-factor, and the 'yur gunna die' or 'yur not gunna have sex' threats seem to be pretty effective from a mass marketing perspective these days. I'm pretty sure the overall message of fear is more accute since 9/11, which facilitated the current politically obvious terrorist-rhetoric tone most of the media has adopted since then.
Money can't buy happiness, but we do sell a product that can. Such malarky.
